Accessibility Statement

Meko designs and builds websites for a living, so accessibility matters to us, including on our own site. This statement explains what we do, where we know there's room to improve, and how to reach us if something gets in your way.

01 Our commitment

We want everyone to be able to use this website, regardless of ability or the technology they use. We treat accessibility as part of good design rather than an add-on, and we work to keep improving.

02 What we do

When building and maintaining this site we aim to:

  • use clear, semantic HTML structure and meaningful headings;
  • maintain sufficient colour contrast in our paper-and-ink palette;
  • support keyboard navigation and visible focus states;
  • provide text alternatives for meaningful images;
  • respect the “reduce motion” setting so animations are toned down for those who prefer it;
  • use responsive layouts that work across screen sizes and support zoom; and
  • write in plain, readable language.

03 Accessibility features you can use

  • Reduce motion: turn on “reduce motion” in your operating system and we'll minimise animations, including the intro and decorative effects.
  • Keyboard: you can move through links, buttons and the booking form using the keyboard.
  • Zoom & reflow: the layout adapts when you increase text size or zoom in.

04 Known limitations

We're honest about where the site isn't perfect yet. We're aware that:

  • some highly visual, animated and interactive elements (such as the intro sequence and custom cursor) are decorative enhancements and may not be fully usable with every assistive technology;
  • third-party tools we embed or link to (for example the Calendly booking flow) are outside our direct control and may have their own accessibility characteristics.

We're working to reduce these gaps. If any of them affect you, please tell us and we'll help directly.

Author note (delete or edit before publishing): This statement is honest and appropriate for a small studio, but it isn't based on a formal audit. If you want to state a firm conformance level, run an accessibility check (e.g. axe DevTools, Lighthouse, or WAVE) on the live site and adjust section 05 to match the real result. As a sole trader your site is unlikely to fall under the public-sector accessibility regulations, but WCAG 2.2 AA is the right target and a strong selling point for a web studio.

05 The standard we aim for

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA, the widely recognised international standard. This is an ongoing target rather than a certified result, and we improve the site as we go.
